Suitable for these devices and connections
This adapter/converter is suitable for the following devices or connections:
- Laptops, desktops, and graphics cards with a DisplayPort output
- Monitors, televisions, beamers, and projectors with an HDMI input
- HDMI cables for connecting the adapter to your screen
- Situations where you want to connect a DisplayPort device to an HDMI screen
What is this adapter used for?
You use this DisplayPort to HDMI adapter to transmit images from a computer, laptop, or desktop with DisplayPort to a screen with an HDMI connection. This is useful when you want to connect an extra monitor, give a presentation on a projector, connect your desktop to a TV, or use an HDMI screen on a device without an HDMI port. The adapter is intended for the DisplayPort to HDMI direction and is therefore particularly suitable as a compact solution between your computer and your screen.

Plug & play use
Connect the DisplayPort end of the adapter to your laptop, desktop, or graphics card. Then connect an HDMI cable to the adapter and to your monitor, TV, projector, or beamer. In most cases, the screen is automatically recognized via your device's display settings. Functionality and maximum resolution may depend on your source device, HDMI cable, screen, settings, and supported refresh rate.
What should you pay attention to?
This adapter works in the DisplayPort to HDMI direction. You use it to connect a DisplayPort output to an HDMI input. The adapter is not intended to convert an HDMI output to a DisplayPort input. An HDMI cable is not included. For 4K@30Hz or 1080p@120Hz, your source device, HDMI cable, and screen must also support this resolution and refresh rate.
Resolution and refresh rate
The adapter supports a maximum resolution of up to 4K@30Hz or 1080p@120Hz. This makes it suitable for sharp images on a 4K monitor or TV, but also for applications where a higher refresh rate at Full HD is desired. The final image quality depends on the entire chain: your DisplayPort output, HDMI cable, screen, and selected display settings.
Image and sound via HDMI
In addition to images, HDMI can also transmit sound. Whether audio works via this adapter depends on your source device, the DisplayPort output, your settings, and the connected HDMI screen. If there is no sound, check if the correct output device is selected in the sound settings of your computer or laptop.
