Plug & play use
Connect the adapter to the Lightning port of your iPhone or iPad and then connect an HDMI cable between the adapter and your TV, monitor, or projector. Then, select the correct HDMI input on the screen. In normal situations, the image will appear on the screen within a few seconds. An HDMI cable is not included.
What should you pay attention to?
This adapter works from Lightning to HDMI and is therefore intended to send an image from your iPhone or iPad to an HDMI screen. The adapter does not work the other way around, i.e., not from HDMI to Lightning. An HDMI cable is not included, and the quality of the HDMI cable may affect performance. For stable use, we recommend an HDMI cable of up to 3 meters, depending on the cable type and cable speed.
Streaming apps and HDCP
Not all apps allow image display via an HDMI adapter. YouTube normally works, but streaming apps that use HDCP protection may block the image. Examples of this include apps like Netflix and Ziggo GO. If you get a blue or black screen with a certain app while the adapter is otherwise properly connected, it is very likely due to HDCP protection and not a defect in the adapter.
Image, sound, and power supply
The adapter transmits image and sound via HDMI, so you do not need a separate audio cable if your screen or TV supports audio via HDMI. External power is not required for the adapter to work. The extra Lightning port is primarily useful as a backup to charge your iPhone or iPad during longer sessions, so your device does not run out of power while watching or presenting.
